The book was officially launched in the island republic by QI Group of Companies director of corporate affairs Zaheer Merchant at a simple ceremony at the Questnet Office.

The book, which the author maintains “is not really a book but just a compilation of my musings and reflections, brought about by my experiences and insights on random, everyday matters,” has been described by many readers as a refreshing reminder of the priorities we need to focus on in today’s fast-paced world. It teaches us that true wealth stems from a life that is lived in harmony with oneself and the people around us.

The compilation was the result of a series of articles written by Mr Bismark for his blog, www.gemsofwisdom.net, with the aim of inspiring and motivating employees of the QI Group of Companies. The readers started sharing the gems of wisdom with family and friends and, the articles soon gained popularity. This prompted RYTHM House Publishing to put together and publish some of his favourites into this profound compilation of wisdom.

The Singapore launch of the book was witnessed by an enthusiastic crowd who couldn’t wait to get their books signed by the author. Many did not miss the photo opportunity and autographing session with the charismatic author. There was also a video presentation on the book and author. Exclusive gem collection bookmarks were given away with book purchases.

Asked to comment on the response to his work, the modest author expressed “In the true sense, I have not really authored this book, but merely compiled the lessons that I have learnt and have been fortunately exposed to, in my journey of life. I hope you derive as much pleasure reading it, as I have had, writing it.”

K. Aveena Devi is an optimistic and courageous young girl with an incredible zest for life. Diagnosed with severe spina bifida, a birth defect which rendered her unable to walk, she defied doctors’ predictions that she would not survive childhood and fought to overcome her physical disability.
Her story is a testimony to how the human spirit can conquer remarkable odds to make dreams come true. While confined to a wheelchair, she learned to paint, swim, play the piano and write, and fought for the right to go to school because she believed that an education would help her achieve her mission in life.
“I learnt some valuable lessons from my search for fulfillment. I learned that if you’re not happy with your life, you need to get up and start doing something about it instead of just sitting down and getting frustrated,” says Aveena.
